Light two blue/purple candles
Leader:
We light again the first Advent candle and remember that hope is coming. As we light the second Advent candle, the candle of peace, we remember that the Prince of Peace is coming and we join in the work of preparing the way. We can walk gently in the way of peace.
Prayer All;
Father, we thank you for revelling yourself though Jesus, your Son and we praise you for the greatness of your love. Help us to share your peace with others and live our lives more like Christ every day.
In His name we pray. Amen
Hymn VIP# 63 stanzas 1 & 3: “Hark The Herald Angels Sing”
1) Hark! the herald angels sing, Glory to the newborn King:
Peace on earth and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled
Joyful, all ye nations, rise, join the triumph of the skies;
with the angelic hosts proclaim: “Christ is born in Bethlehem”
Hark! the herald angels sing, “Glory to the newborn King”
3) Hail the heaven-born Prince of Peace. Hail the Sun of Righteousness!
Light and life to all he brings, risen with healing in his wings.
Mild he lays his glory by, born that we no more may die,
born to raise us from the earth, born to give us second birth.
Hark! the herald angels sing, “Glory to the newborn King”
